Isuzu rules out the current electric D-MAX for Australia

Isuzu has decided against bringing the current battery-electric D-MAX to Australia. In a company statement reported by GoAuto on 30 September, it said the model does not match its present Australian customer requirements.
GoAuto’s report quotes Isuzu Ute Australia executive general manager Rod Caldwell saying diesel remains the local priority while future electrification is assessed. He put diesel’s share of year-to-date light-commercial sales at 84 per cent; that is his attributed figure.
The decision concerns the current electric D-MAX. It does not close the door on a later electric model, and the statement makes no Australian hybrid or plug-in hybrid launch commitment. Nor does it guarantee how long current diesel specifications or accessory fitments will remain unchanged.
Josh’s take: For a build being planned now, use the exact available model’s ratings and confirmed accessory fitment instead of assuming a future powertrain timetable.
