Mine-Spec Fleet Builds
We plan site-ready light vehicle builds for contractors and fleets who need the vehicle to pass an LV inspection and still be under its GVM once it is loaded. We do not fit vehicles. Recommendations follow the supplied site requirements, vehicle limits and available evidence.

For contractors and fleet operators: vehicle/build planning, weight review and a quote-ready scope. Lead time is confirmed after we review your vehicle variants and site standard.

The problem we solve
A light vehicle that cannot pass a site LV inspection is an expensive vehicle sitting in a yard. The fault is rarely the gear itself. It is that the gear was chosen one item at a time, by a supplier who sells that item, with nobody checking the finished vehicle against the site standard or against its own GVM.
Our service is build planning. We explain the options, evidence and unresolved checks against your brief. Any material commercial interest relevant to a recommendation must be disclosed alongside it; a supplier cannot buy a favourable technical conclusion.
What a site-ready light vehicle usually needs
Every operator publishes its own light vehicle standard and they differ in the detail, so treat this as the shape of the list rather than the list itself. We work from your site standard, not a generic one.
| Area | What is usually required |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Rotating or LED beacon, whip aerial with flag, high-visibility livery or reflective tape |
| Occupant protection | OEM three-point seatbelts, seating and cargo separation appropriate to the site specification |
| Frontal protection | ADR-compliant bull bar, rated recovery points |
| Communications | UHF with site channel programming, external speaker |
| Monitoring | IVMS / telematics, seatbelt and speed monitoring, reversing camera or sensors |
| Electrical | Battery isolation switch, auxiliary battery, fused and labelled auxiliary circuits |
| Fire and emergency | Extinguisher, first aid kit, wheel chocks, spill kit, mounted and accessible |
| Load and recovery | Tray or canopy fit-out, rated tie-down points, jack and recovery kit |
| Compliance | Second-stage manufacture or engineering sign-off where required; reduce planned loads or investigate an eligible certified GVM upgrade if the build exceeds its limit |
What you get
A written build spec. Every item listed by brand, part number and fitted weight, mapped line by line against your site's LV standard, with anything the standard does not cover flagged as a decision rather than quietly assumed.
A weight and limits sheet. Documented base weight, the weight each item adds, measured or otherwise verified axle loads where available, GVM and GCM position, and estimated remaining payload with a full crew and typical tools. Missing measurements are identified, along with whether a GVM upgrade needs investigation. Any upgrade requires vehicle-specific eligibility and certification checks.
A quote-ready scope. Written so you can send the same document to three fitters and get three comparable quotes, instead of three different builds.
A fleet variant matrix, where you run more than one body type — what stays common across the fleet for parts holding and training, and what has to differ.
Optional: quote review. We read the quotes that come back against the spec and tell you where they diverge from it.
How it runs
1. Scoping call. Vehicles, numbers, site, the operator's LV standard, the work the vehicles actually do, and your timeframe. No charge.
2. Fixed-price proposal. Scope, deliverables, timeframe and price in writing before any work starts. Nothing proceeds until you accept it.
3. Draft build spec. Issued for your review, with the compliance sheet and anything we could not verify.
4. Revision and issue. One round of revisions included; the final document is yours to distribute to fitters.
What it costs
Per variant specification, minimum three vehicles. Where several vehicles share a variant you pay for the variant once and the spec covers the batch.
For site standard review, mixed fleets, or work closer to an audit than a specification. Quoted as a fixed number of days before anything starts.
Single-variant fleets are quick. Mixed fleets take longer and we will say so before you commit. The scoping call costs nothing either way, and the price is in writing before any work begins.
For context: a light vehicle that cannot pass its LV inspection on arrival is an asset sitting in a yard on day rates. The specification is a rounding error against that, which is why we quote it as a fixed figure rather than a percentage of the build.
Who this suits
Contractors mobilising to site with vehicles that have to pass an LV inspection on arrival. Fleets replacing vehicles and wanting the next batch worked out properly rather than copied from the last one. Businesses buying ex-mine vehicles to re-commission, where the previous fit-out has been stripped. And anyone who has been quoted three wildly different numbers for what was meant to be the same build.
Tell us the vehicle, the site and the numbers. We'll send you the capability document, and the scoping call costs nothing.
Figures are drawn from our product database and manufacturer specifications; some are estimates pending confirmation. Compliance requirements vary by state and vehicle — confirm with the manufacturer and a qualified fitter. This page gives general information. Any paid engagement addresses the scope and intended use agreed in its proposal; it does not provide legal advice or engineering certification.
